Celsys announces that Ver. 5.0 for Clip Studio Paint, the illustration, comic, webtoon, and animation app, will be released in March 2026. Ver. 5.0 includes improved drawing and 3D features, interface improvements, and enhanced features for print and multi-page projects. The latest version also brings new features for Simple Mode, boosted app performance, and expanded language support.

Main New Features in Ver. 5.0
Ver. 5.0 will include all the features that have been added since Ver. 4.0’s release, plus many new features.
Improved drawing capabilities and performance
Smart Shape
・Draw lines, curves, and shapes intuitively and efficiently.
・Quickly create precise figures and shapes without switching from the pen or brush.
Enhanced 3D features
3D hand model
・Use high quality 3D hand models as references to improve hand drawings.
・Freely adjust the model size with intuitive controls for all kinds of character design.
・Use hand pose materials and the Hand Scanner for quick posing.
Improvements to interface and usability
Improved workspace and palettes
・Merged Sub Tools into Tools to simplify terms.
・Tool icons can now pop up with related palettes.
Improved performance and creative experience
Continuous saving of clip files
・Continuously saves back-up data. If the app is closed without saving, on the next launch, it will reload the canvas that was open before the app closed.
Ver. 5.0 also includes the updates added throughout 2025 for annual and monthly subscribers. These include performance improvements such as improved blurring, a velocity brush setting, and faster fill speed, as well as the ability to group 3D models and batch delete of hidden layers. Transformation speed has been improved and color profile settings have been optimized. Users can view graphs of their daily creative hours. For Simple Mode, Puppet warp, 3D head models and Sub View have been added as new features.

New users can sign up for a monthly/annual plan or purchase a perpetual license to get Ver. 5.0.
For Current Users
Users with a monthly/annual plan or the Update Pass automatically have access to the latest versions including Ver. 5.0 and beyond. Users with a prior version of a perpetual license can sign up for the Update Pass or purchase a perpetual license upgrade to get Ver. 5.0.
