Celsys offers Clip Studio Paint to elementary and junior high school manga classes conducted by JPIC by working with the Agency for Cultural Affairs’ 2025 Student Development Program through Culture and the Arts (artist dispatch) program

Celsys has been working with the Japan Publishing Industry Foundation for Culture (JPIC) in providing hands-on manga lessons to elementary and junior high schools as part of the Agency for Cultural Affairs' “Student Development Program through Culture and the Arts (artist dispatch)” program.

Celsys supports creating opportunities to experience the joy of creating through classes and a digital creative environment, while expanding digital content creation activities among young people.

Project Overview

An overview of the program by the Agency for Cultural Affairs is as follows(*1).

1. Purpose of the program
The program dispatches creators and editors active in Japan's attractive content sectors (manga, anime, games, film and video, and more) to elementary and junior high schools. Collaborating with teachers, they actively use ICT devices to give demonstrations and hands-on instruction. This fosters children's creativity, imagination, critical thinking skills, and communication abilities. In addition, to incorporate the creative elements within creators' techniques and production activities in future school education, the program collects examples of effective lessons done through dispatches and case studies for developing open-source teaching materials that are accessible to any school, teacher, or student.

2. Program details
Artistic organizations in sectors like manga, anime, games, and film and video collaborate with local governments and schools to nurture the abilities, like creativity and imagination, of children who will lead the next generation. They dispatch creators active in their respective fields to schools. While working with teachers, these creators give creative lessons that blend in-person and online teaching formats that use distributed ICT devices. Furthermore, to ensure these fields are increasingly used in school lessons moving forward, the program studies the best practices in implementation and considers proposals for creating teaching materials for the classroom.
