Celsys is pleased to announce that the major update for Clip Studio Paint, the illustration, comic, webtoon, and animation app, released on March 11, 2026, has been well-received by creators worldwide. Sales exceeded initial projections, reaching over 150% of the expected target. Due to strong sales and an increase in subscription numbers, the company’s single month revenue is expected to exceed 1.3 billion yen for the first time in March 2026.
Clip Studio Paint has a major update each year, with proven success in raising the baseline of revenue and total users. The major version upgrade (Ver. 5.0) had a strong performance in the overseas promotion, which was conducted at the same time to attract new customers and encourage existing customers to upgrade to the new version.
During the first week of availability of Ver 5.0, the percentage increase in new subscriptions and new purchases was as follows.
● Revenue from promotion of one-time purchase version to overseas customers
・ Performance against target: 150%
● Number of new subscriptions
・ Compared to the same period of the previous month: 189%
● Company-wide sales forecast for the month of March 2026
・ More than 1.3 billion yen
Trends in ARR and churn rate of the subscription model service Clip Studio Paint, and sales total including the one-time payment model are disclosed monthly in the "Monthly Business Progress Report" on the IR page of the corporate website.
