April 16, 2026, Tokyo – Celsys announces that illustration, comic, webtoon, and animation app Clip Studio Paint is sponsoring The Art Department, an art festival and conference that puts the spotlight on the design process of films, animations, and games, including a live demo from illustrator Trudy Wenzel (Synticfaye). The event is held from April 15 to 17 at the Klokgebouw, Eindhoven.
Launched in 2017, The Art Department is a three-day event with a packed program of artist talks, demos, screenings, portfolio reviews, and other opportunities to connect with industry artists. Attended by approximately 7,500 creatives in 2025, the event continues to grow and connect international creative communities. This year, Celsys is sponsoring a live demo with illustrator and background artist Trudy Wenzel (Synticfaye), to give concept art advice and a live demonstration of the app.

Trudy Wenzel
Trudy is a freelance illustrator working in animation for various clients. Besides concept artwork for backgrounds and prop design, she keeps up a stream of personal art surrounding her Cyberfairies and published her first book in 2025. In this Clip Studio Paint demo, Syntic will showcase her 2D workflow with tools she uses from the software.
