CELSYS, Inc. (the “Company”) has released detailed resources and specifications about “xdts,” a general-purpose exposure sheet file format designed to address challenges in animation production and facilitate smooth data integration across the entire animation process.

As the developer of Clip Studio Paint, which holds a market share of over 80% (*) in Japanese animation production studios, the Company is promoting “xdts” as an open, general-purpose exposure sheet file format for animation production. It is currently adopted as a general-purpose format in studios using a variety of production applications and across major animation studios, enabling seamless collaboration across production tools.

Animation production is a divided workflow in which multiple steps and production studios collaborate to work on a single project. While digitization continues to advance, it is not uncommon for each company or production stage to use different tools. “xdts” facilitates the exchange and transfer of data between these processes.
 
To make implementing “xdts” easier and more accessible, the Company has launched a dedicated web page. The page provides an overview of “xdts,” highlights compatible applications, and offers resources and format specifications for download.
