Celsys today opens the new Global Comic Awards, a comic and manga contest for creators worldwide offering cash prizes, media placement opportunities, and creative software, providing a chance for enthusiastic young creators to learn new techniques and connect with influential media organizations. This special first round of the contest is hosted jointly by pixiv, the largest art social network in Japan with 98 million users. 

The Global Comic Awards expand upon the International Comic/Manga School Contest, a contest for students around the world that was held by Celsys from 2018 to 2023. From this year, the contest is open to all comic creators for the first time, to be hosted jointly with a variety of partners. By collaborating with art hosting platforms, Celsys will encourage artists to make their debut and present their creations. This first edition of the contest is jointly hosted by pixiv Inc, a platform with more than 98 million users in 230 countries and regions around the world, with the hope that participating artists can have their artworks seen by many.

Open to all ages, the contest is accepting comic, manga, and webtoon submissions on pixiv from today. The contest includes an open category and a “Time” theme category." 
35 Japanese and international companies in the comic industry are supporting the contest and will view participating entries.

Prize winners will have chances to have their entries published in sponsors’ media outlets. In addition, US$3,300 in prize money will be granted to the overall Grand Prize (1 person), as well as cash prizes for the Theme Category Award (1 person), Open Category Award (1 person), and Excellence awards (10 people).
