Winners of Artfol x Clip Studio Paint Global Comic Awards 2025 Announced!

December 25, 2025, Tokyo - Celsys today announces the winning entries of the sixth Global Comic Awards held in cooperation with Artfol, a community-first social network for artists, on the theme of “Déjà Vu”. The Grand Prize goes to The Eye of Chronos by Anderson Carman (@andersoncarman), a vibrant sci-fi story with a movie-like atmosphere, and the Runner-up Prize goes to Forgotten Fruit by Mika (@mikathetattletale), an intriguing story that subverts vampire tropes.

Open from September 1 to November 28, 2025, this iteration of the contest called for artists to challenge themselves to a single-page comic, and received 909 entries in many genres and styles. The Global Comic Awards aims to encourage artists to present their creations, connecting winning artists with sponsor companies from the comic industry such as JumpTOON, KADOKAWA, TATESC COMICS, and more. In addition to connections with sponsor media and a Clip Studio Paint EX activation code, the Grand Prize winner receives US$3,300 while second and third place receive US$1,000 in prize money. Cash prizes are also given for the 10 Excellence Awards.

Celsys will continue to collaborate with leading enterprises in comic culture both in Japan and across the globe, to support young creators in their goal of becoming professional comic artists.

Please see the announcement site on Artfol to read the winning entries in full.

■Winning Entries
Grand Prize

Artist: Anderson Carman (@andersoncarman)
Title: The Eye of Chronos
URL: https://artfol.app/a/GplClLP
Judge comment (Mirka Andolfo): This is a perfect example of how to build a captivating and compelling storyline within a “simple” one-shot—which is, in fact, the hardest challenge to tackle. The storytelling is tight and well-paced, and the visual style is both cool and highly functional to the overall atmosphere. The characters immediately spark interest, even when given only a few panels to shine. Everything feels purposeful and well balanced.

Second place

Artist: Mika (@mikathetattletale)
Title: Forgotten Fruit
URL: https://artfol.app/a/9lIu9gp
Judge comment (Jaki King): The excellent lineart and use of red as an accent color make this comic stand out! The artist’s technical competency is on full display, and their use of precise linework really sets the scene for this piece.

Third place

Artist: Zoé LGM (@zoelgm)
Title: The rabbit
URL: https://artfol.app/a/vvf40EO
Judge comment (Mirka Andolfo): An incredible art style that immediately stands out. The use of color is especially striking: soft and warm tones for the main characters, contrasted with stronger, colder, and darker hues for specific elements. This contrast powerfully enhances the storytelling and emotional weight of the piece.
