Clip Studio Paint, the illustration, comic, webtoon, and animation app developed and distributed by Celsys, is now available in simplified Chinese on Windows/macOS devices, further supporting creators in their native language. At the same time, we are revising the price of the simplified Chinese version for iPad, which was released at an earlier date, for stable service provision and improved profitability.
On July 29, Celsys released a new feature update for Clip Studio Paint, along with the release of a simplified Chinese version. The purchase page on the official website as well as community websites to support creators are also now available in simplified Chinese. Simplified Chinese is spoken by 1.3 billion people across the world, not only in mainland China but also in Singapore, Malaysia, and other Chinese-speaking communities. Already more than 80% of Clip Studio Paint users are outside Japan, and we expect this to increase the number of users globally.

Along with this update, the price of the simplified Chinese version of Clip Studio Paint that was released for iPad in December 2022 will be increased by up to 16%. Subscription sales of the simplified Chinese version of Clip Studio Paint for the iPad ranked 7th in the App Store ranking by country as of June 2025, and the newly supported simplified Chinese version for Windows and macOS is expected to further increase revenue.
