CEDEC2023 was held in a hybrid offline/online format, with Celsys participating as an event sponsor as well as hosting a session about creating visuals with Clip Studio Paint with Daizo Kimura, Art Director of SEGA CORPORATION's online RPG “PSO2 NEW GENESIS” (hereinafter “NGS”).

This talk session focused on the creative process for the artwork for the online game, “NGS”.



The session covered why Clip Studio Paint was chosen for NGS and examples of how it was used for 90% of all art production.



Art director Daizo Kimura talks about Clip Studio Paint’s high degree of customization and tools and how it contributed to the NGS having an art team that could allow for any member to be able to work with the same tool settings easily. “Clip Studio Paint thinks first and foremost about the individual user drawing with a pen in hand, while offering efficient tools invaluable for working in a team. It is indispensable to us.” Kimura commented with this and more.

Joined SEGA CORPORATION in 2003 (formerly Sonic Team) 
He worked in the art department for Phantasy Star series games such as “PHANTASY STAR UNIVERSE”, “PHANTASY STAR PORTABLE”, “PHANTASY STAR Ø”, and “PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2”, drawing designs and illustrations. 
He is currently an art director for PSO2 NEW GENESIS.
